As an industry leader, Certified Hosting leads the way in foreseeing the evolving requirements of customers and creates products to meet their requirements. Since modern websites and applications were quickly outgrowing traditional shared hosting resources, we saw the need for a more robust version of shared hosting.

Certified Hosting introduces Shared Dedicated Hosting for next-gen websites and applications. It uses Lightweight Virtualized Environment (LVE) technology to offer the convenience of a fully managed shared hosting account and the performance of a high-end dedicated server.

In plain English, we have taken high performance servers and divided them into 6 equal “slices”. Each part has access to 1/6th of the server’s resources like CPU, RAM, Disk Space, etc. A shared dedicated server can house 1-6 clients depending on how many slices each client purchases.

Shared Dedicated hosting is the perfect launch pad for next-gen websites and applications. Instead of paying for a dedicated server when you don’t need it, you can gradually upgrade by purchasing slices of dedicated resources as your business grows.

How does it work?

A high performance server is divided by Cloud Linux Lightweight Virtualized Environment (LVE) technology into 6 isolated LVEs or “slices”. Each slice gets an equal share of the server’s resources.

Customers can start with 1 of the 6 slices and add slices to their account as they grow. Eventually, an account sharing the server with 5 other accounts can become the only account on a dedicated server.

At this point you’re ready for your own dedicated server!

Minimum Users

Certified Hosting guarantees a maximum of 6 slices on a Shared Dedicated server at any point. Sharing a server six ways allows for a more reliable performance compared to sharing it with an unknown number of accounts on a traditional shared hosting server.

Maximum Resources

With advanced isolation, access to the maximum server resources allotted to your account is always guaranteed. At any point, available resources are significantly higher than standard hosting plans.

Easily Upgrade and Add - A - Slice

You start with 1 or more out of 6 available slices. As you grow, you can add one or more slice to your account at a time, up to a maximum of 6 slices of dedicated resources. When you need more than six slices, you are ready to move to a dedicated server.

Better Security

Advanced isolation translates into enhanced security and reliability. Your account is safe not only from malware and hackers who have compromised other accounts on the server but from faulty scripts on these accounts as well.

Fully Managed

We take care of all the technicalities for you. With round the clock monitoring, technical issues on your server do not have to wait overnight for your attention, we handle them. Have a problem? Give us a call, it’s included in our Fully Managed Support package.

With lots of uncomplicated features, cPanel is easy to use for beginners and advanced users. Managing a Shared Dedicated account with cPanel is similar to managing a shared hosting account. If you’re upgrading, you’ll never notice any visible differences.

We bundle 275+ of the most popular web scripts and applications with your account for 1 click installation and instant startup.

SSH Access

SSH (Secure Shell) creates a secure connection with your hosting account for managing files and executing commands to manage your account. We include Jailed SSH (limited access to your account only) with all Shared Dedicated accounts.

Dedicated IP

A dedicated IP address improves the response time of your website when traffic peaks. It is also required to setup SSL protection for processing payments and sensitive data.

PHP Selector

Our PHP selector allows you to select the PHP version you’d like to use. To use PHP scripts, you must use a compatible PHP version or they won’t work.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Unlimited Shared Hosting and Shared Dedicated Hosting?

While both hosting types are in a shared environment there are a few major differences:

1.# of Users Per Server – Unlimited Shared servers typically have 100+ users per server. Shared Dedicated has a MAXIMUM of 6. Fewer users mean less security issues and more server resources.

2.Resources – Because a Shared Dedicated server is only divided into 6 LVEs aka “slices”, the amount of Ram and CPU available to each user is over 600% more than on a typical unlimited shared server. More resources equal faster, smoother running websites.

3. Additional Resources – Shared Dedicated hosting lets you add additional resources as you need them. Once you start to max out the resource limits on 1 slice, you can simply add another slice to your account, which gives you a larger piece of the server pie.

What is the difference between Shared Dedicated Hosting and a Dedicated Server?

There are two major differences between a Shared Dedicated Server and a traditional Dedicated Server.

1. Performance – Shared Dedicated Servers offer a substantial increase in performance over traditional unlimited hosting plans, but a dedicatedserver provides even more performance and can be enhanced with custom hardware configurations.

2. Control – A Shared Dedicated Server has limits both in terms of resource usage and it’s de fault hardware/software configuration. With a Dedicated Server there are no limits. You are free to customize the server hardware and software anyway you please.

How do I upgrade my Shared Dedicated Server?

It’s easy! If you already have a slice you can add additional slices at a reduced rate ($50 each/mo). All you have to do is send us a support ticket and we’ll take care of the rest.

Can I use the Shared Dedicated Server as a reseller?

No, due to the unique nature of the Virtualized Environments and our maximum limits of 6 slices (LVEs) per server, reseller hosting is not permitted on the Dedicated Shared servers.

What if I use all 6 slices and still need to upgrade? Where do I go from here?

Once you’re reached the point where you utilize all 6 slices on the Shared Dedicated Server, you’re officially ready for a true Dedicated Server. At that point you would need to upgrade to one of our Pro Level Dedicated Servers.
